Well thanks to the drive though guy at the Taco Bell my year of going without soda is over. I ordered a Lipton Rasberry Iced Tea . He said Lipton Rasberry Iced Tea back to me. However my first sip as Juicebox and I drove away proved that my drink was in fact a Pepsi Cola. It only took one sip for me to decide that I really do not miss soda pop.
Prior to the the mishap it had been 1 year and 30 days since I had any soda (ironically, my last soda was a Baha Blast Mountain Dew at a Taco Bell in PHX).
Oh well, I already decided that it no longer was going to be a legalistic standard anymore.

Cold Weather Survival
The winter months can be hard on a bicycle commuter. This is my third winter in Louisville and the coldest one yet. But with the right fashion know-how, it's possible to survive the worst Louisville has to offer.
When it comes to commuting, a scarf goes from fashionable accessory to the difference between life and death. Well that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but having a thoroughly insulated neck and chin makes a big difference.
A good base layer is also a must. I have a pair of ventilated athletic leggings that are pretty amazing. Some days I leave them on for my entire shift. However. there's nothing wrong with kicking it old school and rocking the long underwear either.
For below freezing days a good thermal face mask can really take the bite off of the cold. You can get one in the hunting/outdoors section of most sporting goods stores. Be sure to choose neutral gang colors, but a bandanna tied old west style can also do the trick.
Finally, a zip-up hoody can be layered with almost any jacket, even another hoody . There's no such thing as too many hoodies.

One Bounce
It's a bit like the movie Fight Club. In fact I'm not even sure if I should be blogging about it. But, if you haven't played One Bounce, there's really no way to grok it.
The invitation to play doesn't come often, and probably won't come twice. It's not that it's elitist, it's low key.
There's a lot of elements that go in the game:
The slightly under inflated four-square ball. The ever increasing amount of broken light fixtures. All of the children's toys that we have to move out of the gym. The pile of chairs in the corner that we don't . The occasional bonus point that comes from making a basket. The ability to play it for 3 straight hours on a Saturday night.
It doesn't matter who wins or loses. It doesn't matter how you play the game. What matters is the moment. The serve, the set, the kill, the unexpected bounce, the unstoppable rebound shot off of the pillar.
You really do have to play it.

Coffee
I spilled an entire blended mocha on my off white t shirt today so a had to wear my hoody the entire shift. (note: I do not normally order blended mochas, but it was free and pretty good).
I also got some delicioius coffee at Quills with a whole slew of my friends.
Coffee is much better consumed than worn.

Blurbs
Interstates put on an amazing show Saturday night. Beautiful, lush layers of sound synchronized with engaging visual images. Grampall Jookabox, one of the opening acts, utilized a very unique combination of looping/sampling with flashlights and dancing.
The new gallery at the 930 is definitely worth stopping by to see in person.
I finally was able to catch a showing of Juno. Amazing movie. Probably my favorite released in 07. Ellen Page deserves the Oscar for best actress for her role, well if you ask me anyway.
It was great to be back at my church. I cried during Daniel's message on Paul's letter to the Romans (which should be posted here soon). This is going to be an amazing series.

Soda Pop
This is my 365th day without consuming any soda.
Sans 5 hours, I have met my goal.
The question I am faced with, what do I do tomorrow?
Suggestions?
